23 August 2021 C-1981-044/Williams Fork Mines RAR <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge <br />Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring <br />4.05.13; Drainage- Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream <br />Buffer Zones 4.05.18 <br />o Unless otherwise noted, pond banks and dams appeared stable at the time of inspection. <br />o None of the ponds held water at the time of inspection. <br />o Ditches were dry, and appeared to be functioning adequately. <br />TOPSOIL RULE 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution <br />4.06.4 <br />o No instability, rilling or gullying were noted on the observed topsoil piles. <br />o Piles appeared to be marked appropriately with tposts. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING R ULE 4.14 <br />o Work continues at the portal area. <br />o The large culvert has been removed, leaving for the moment a deep trench. <br />REVEGETATION - Rule 4.15 <br />General Requirements 4.15.1; Use of Species 4.15.2, Grazing 4.15.5 <br />o Reclamation and revegetation are progressing as permitted. <br />o Seeding that occurred in fall of 2019 and 2020 along the bottomlands of the Williams <br />Fork River had emerged earlier in the spring. The area appeared weedy and the grasses <br />that had emerged appeared drought stressed at the time of inspection. <br />o Weed spraying had taken place in the spring, and kosha and thistles were noted in places. <br />o Vegetation on the refuse pile (reclaimed in 2020), showed an abundance of weeds, <br />notably kosha. <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED <br />None <br />ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE <br />No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 <br />
