R;rle .r3vel Pit #I
• Grading will create a final topography appropriate to the final land use selected in the
Reclamation Plan (see Exhibit E1, Figure 15).
• Overburden and waste will be replaced in the mined area and will be adequately
compacted for stability and prevent leaching of toxic or acid-forming materials.
• All grading will be done in a manner to control erosion and siltation of the Affected
Areas, to protect areas outside the Affected Areas from slides and other damage.
Highwalls will be eliminated.
• Backfilling and grading shall be completed as soon as feasible after the mining
process. See Table 2.
• All refuse and acid forming or toxic producing materials (not expected), if found, will
be handled, and disposed of in a manner that will control unsightliness and protect
the drainage system from pollution.
• Any drill or auger holes that are part of the mining operation will be plugged with non-
combustible material. There will not be any adits nor shafts at this location.
• The maximum slopes are depicted on Exhibit Ell, Figure 15 (see Typical Section)
and Exhibit E2, Figure 16. This detail depicts a 5:1 slope for the upper portion of
the reclaimed pond and was informed by the CPW staff.
• No inert structural fill generated outside of the approved permit area will be backfilled
into the mining pit.
• All mined material that will be disposed of within the Affected Area will be handled in
such a manner so as to prevent any unauthorized release of pollutants to the surface
drainage system.
• No unauthorized release of pollutants to groundwater shall occur from any materials
mined, handled or disposed of within the Permitted Area.
6.1.1.2 Water—General Requirements
Scott Contracting Inc. will minimize disturbances, to the extent practicable, to the prevailing
hydrologic balance of the Affected Area and of the surrounding area and to the quantity or
quality of water in surface and groundwater systems both during and after the mining
operation and during reclamation by:
• Complying with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations governing injury to
existing water rights.
• Compliance with applicable federal and Colorado water quality laws and regulations,
including statewide water quality standards and site-specific classifications and
standards adopted by the Water Quality Control Commission.
• Compliance with applicable federal and Colorado dredge and fill requirements.
• Removing temporary or large siltation structures from drainage ways after disturbed
areas are revegetated and stabilized, as required by the Reclamation Plan.
• No earth dams will be constructed to impound water.
• All surface areas of the Affected Area, including spoil piles, will be stabilized, and
protected so as to effectively control erosion.
• Scott Contracting, Inc. has installed piezometers to monitor the groundwater levels
on the parcel and can provide that data upon request.
• Scott Contracting, Inc. will be required to sample water from the dewatering pipeline
prior to discharge per their CDPHE permitting requirements (application will be
submitted upon approval of all DRMS and Garfield County Permits).
31
