J & P TRUCKING CALICHE PIT
Exhibit D
Mining Plan
growing season. The primary commodities obtained will be
caliche gravel, and fill material, and will be sold to both public
and private entities. No incidental products are expected to be
mined.
Water will be used at the mine for dust control. No product
washing will be done. Water will be hauled to the pit from
either Vilas or Springfield, as both municipalities have water
available to purchase. Estimated amount of water to be used
for the small operation will be 1 - 5 acre/ft per year. To
prevent storm water from being discharged from affected
areas, berms will be pushed up around affected areas, as per
Storm water Permit SWMP. Mining and excavation will not
occur deep enough to reach or breech the water table.
Due to the caliche operation being in a rural area, (with
sporadic demand for product), the approximate time for each
phase will depend on demand for product. Current plan is to
begin mining when permit received, and as soon as feasible,
begin reclaiming/reseeding areas that have been excavated,
while continuing to mine inside current phase boundaries.
Phase boundaries/shapes indicated on mining plan map in
Exhibit C are approximate. Each Phase will be approximately
10 acres or less, disturbed acreage will be 15 or less, to allow
for haul roads and stockpiles. It is anticipated that phases will
be mined in the order they are numbered. However,
Operator/Permitee reserves the right to mine some phases
concurrently if the desired product is found to lay in such
manner that requires "chasing" of the product.
Operator/Perm itee will maintain an amount of affected
acreage that at no time exceeds 15 acres, including haul roads
and stockpiles.
