Mindy Sickles accompanied the inspector <br /> and represented ERMR. Frank Ferns,of ERMR was on site meeting with other mine representatives. <br /> The weather was hazy and dry.The southwest Colorado region has been experiencing an "exceptional drought" <br /> this summer. The CC ditch had been damaged upgradient from Nucla in June. The CC ditch flow was interuppted <br /> for 10 days according to mine personnel. The damage to the ditch was repaired and irrigation water was restored. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(l): <br /> Mine records are stored at the ERMR office at the New Horizon Mine. Records were intact and up to date. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> The operator has removed the liner out of NHN-001-South Ditch on the south end of the permit area. This <br /> work looks good and the ditch is shaped in accordance with the approved design. <br /> NHN-001 West ditch remains in good condition <br /> Pond 1 was holding a shallow pool of water. This is tail-water from the irrigated pasture located immediately east <br /> and north of the pond. The pool in the bottom of the pond is very shallow and not near the discharge elevation for <br /> Pond 1. <br /> Pond 2 was dry. HNH-002 west ditch was clear and functional. Some cottonwood saplings are becoming <br /> established in the sides of the ditch,but not within the potential flow path. These saplings are far enough up the <br /> sides of the ditch that the function of the ditch will not be impeded. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS-Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The irrigated pasture had a healthy stand of alfalfa.
