-;M
DLRAY SILVER MINES
Response:
a. All tables that contain reagent information have been updated to include alternatives.
b. The additional SDS information supplied to the Division in Adequacy Response#2 are alternative
chemicals for the listed reagents. Danafloat can be used instead of Areofloat, Polyfroth can be
used instead of Oreprep, and NAX 31 is a Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate. Other alternate venders
without SDS sheets included in the Table 4 submitted in Adequacy Response #2 have been
removed from the table. Danafloat,Aeeofloat, and NAX 31 are the only alternative chemicals the
mine requests to be reviewed at this time.
4. Nax 31 by Prospec Chemicals appears to be an alternative Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate. Please
confirm if this is an alternative requesting to be used.
Response: Correct, NAX 31 is an alternative Sodium Isopropyl Xanthate. Table 4 has been updated with
relevant information on NAX 31.
5. Danafloat 067 by Quadra Chemicals Inc. appears to be a new chemical rather than an
alternative based on the provided MSDS section 3. Composition/information of ingredients.Please
clarify;
a. What this chemical is used is for/purpose;
b. Where it will be stored within the reagent room;
c. Indicate if it will be replacing another chemical or if additional tanks are needed,
d. The maximum volume to be stored on site at any given time;
e. Its known potential to affect human health, property or the environment, pursuant to Rule
6.4.21(5)(a);
f. The expected concentrations, process solution volumes and fate of designated chemicals,
in accordance with Rule 6.4.21(5)(b).
Response:
a. Danafloat is an alternative to Aerofloat and serves the same purpose.
b. If used it will be stored in the common area of the reagent room at the location labeled as Aero
242 on drawing 700-GA-001.
c. No additional tanks are needed. This would replace the Aerofloat as an alternative chemical and
would be used in the same tanks.
d. The volume stored would be the same as Aerofloat. Please see Updated Table 1.
e. The known potential to affect human health and the environment are listed in Table 4.
f. The concentrations,process solution volumes, and fate are the same as Aerofloat 242.
6. Polyfroth W20 by Quadra Chemicals Inc. appears to be a new chemical rather than an alternative
based on the provided MSDS section 3. Composition/information of ingredients. Please clarify;
a. What this chemical is used is for/purpose;
b. Where it will be stored within the reagent room;
c. Indicate if it will be replacing another chemical or if additional tanks are needed,
d. The maximum volume to be stored on site at any given time;
2 1 P a g e
