June 16,2021 C-1981-035/King Coal Mine LJW <br /> the Operator Representative indicate that ditch cleaning will be taking place in the coming months providing no <br /> monsoonal moisture prohibits that activity. The ponds can be seen in Photos Four and Five. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> Preperations for the work related to Technical Revision 30 were being made at the time of the inspection. <br /> Exclusion fencing was being installed by Stratified Environmental and Archaeological Services,and various <br /> equipment was staged in the area. No surface disturbance has taken place as of yet. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15 <br /> Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> Throughout both the King I and King II areas evidence of chemical weed treatment was observed. Some <br /> plants exhibited signs that they were sprayed but did not terminate. On site discussions with the Operator <br /> Representative indicate that a second round of treatment is forthcoming. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> At the King I facility both the upper and lower refuse piles were observed. The upper refuse pile is not <br /> currently in use,but has been compacted and surface water control berms have been constructed. The material <br /> size and compaction appears to meet the design specifications. The upper refuse pile can be seen in Photo Six. <br /> The lower refuse pile was being worked,graded and compacted in preparation for more refuse to be deposited. <br /> The grading and compaction also appear to be in accordance with the design specifications. Photo Seven shows <br /> the lower refuse pile. No standing water was observed on either pile. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The Topsoil stockpile at the King II facility was observed and seen in Photo Eight. The pile is well <br /> vegetated and was stable at the time of the inspection. No evidence of settling slumping or erosion was noted. <br /> The Topsoil stockpile at the King I facility above the upper refuse pile was also observed. It too was stable and <br /> well vegetated. <br /> ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE <br /> No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection,nor are any pending. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
