_M
CX R4Y"_5LVER A41NES
used and references equipment size of an 8 in internal diameter. All
information including construction drawings for the Reagent
Building indicate that thepiping system will consist of 2 inch or
smaller diameter piping. Please clarify why this form was included
and what its applicability is to the Reagent Building.
b. Sheet 100-SS
i. Please commit to retaining and submitting all QA/QC
documentation for each respective phase of construction as it is
completed. These should beprovided in addition to the as built
drawings and certifications for the components it applies to.
c. QA/QC criteria is given in several different documents throughout the
revision. For ease of reference, please submit a table of all QA/QC tests to
be conducted during construction, including the location or phase, success
criteria, the results of each test and a"Pass/ Fail" indication. This running
table can be used as a summary table, to be submitted with full
documentation of the QA/QC tests as anappendix to the Table. This will
allow the Operator and the Division to actively track all QA/QC tests
effectively and clearly.
Response:
a.
i. A revised Quality manual is attached with an updated organizational
chart. Patrick Aleman is the representative from the Western Refractory
Quality Control Department.
ii. The mine will work with Western Refractory to provide a fill turnover
documentation package for all work activates.
iii. The statements in the Western Refractory QC manual paint with broad
strokes because no two jobs are the alike. The manual is used to outline
what governing codes/clients may require. The notes section in the
drawing package outlines that ASME B31 and AWS DI.1. will be
referenced for weldment and testing.
iv. All of the reagent piping within the mill is defined as category D or normal
fluid service piping per ASME B31.3. The Western Refractory QAQC
Manual is only an outline and non-destructive examination (NDE) is
determined by governing codes. ASME requires 5% NDE (UT RT) be
performed for Category D piping. By the rules set forth by ASME only
require hydrostatic testing be performed. Per ASME B31.3 341.4.1.
V. The rules of ASME B31.3 will apply to NDE performed. Per ASME B31.1
341.4.1
vi. All piping are pressure tested after assembly. Tests are conducted per
ASME B31.3 345.1.
vii. Nonmetal piping is subject to a service/hydrotest after assembly.
181Pa * e
