sedimentation basins (approximately 10'w x 40' long x
6' deep) were located under this conveyor to collect
coal fines produced during the wash down of this
conveyor.
Reclamation Status: The R-4 conveyor has been
removed from site. Reclamation activities occurred in
2007. Concrete foundations are still in place.
10. Train Loadout
The train loadout, aproximately 45 feet long by 48 feet
wide and 70 feet tall was used to load 10,000 ton unit
trains. Coal was delivered to a 250 ton surge bin via
the Train Loadout elevating conveyor. This surge bin
was used to flood load rail cars via a chute with a knife
gate. The chute could be raised and lowered to help
with dust control. A portion of the coal stream was
crushed and bagged for chemical analysis. The
construction of the Train Loadout was structural steel
members partially sheathed in steel siding with floors
made of grate steel and deck plating. It was roofed
with steel roofing. This train loadout operated under
the limitations of the Colorado Department of Health
and Environment Construction Permit 11 DL252-10.
Reclamation Status: The train loadout structure has
been removed from site. Reclamation activities
occurred in 2007. Concrete foundations are still in
place.
11. Shop
A small shop and warehouse, approximately 100 feet
long by 50 feet wide and 30 feet tall is used to maintain
ancillary machinery used around the train loadout and
for machinery used for snow removal. This building is
a pole shed constructed on a concrete slab, sheathed
with steel siding and steel roof.
RN -07 2.05-10 02/18
