Exhibit G
Water Information
6.4.7 The Smith pit is a typically dry sit, only affected by rainfall in the immediate area. The
mining operation should not affect any flow of water or ground water. Ground water in the
immediate vicinity according to well permits is 35 feet. The pit operation only water usage will
be for dust control. Water for this purpose will be purchased from a local commercial well if
needed.
Storm water plan for Smith Pit
After receiving the go-ahead from MLRB, we will move top soil to the North side boundaries,
thus creating a berm to hold excessive storm water out of actual pit working area. This is a flat
open area with no waterways present. No run in or runoff of rain water is anticipated at this
location.
Machines that operate in the pit will have a designated parking area out of the working zone to
reduce the chance of contamination.Topsoil and overburden piles will be seeded with
approved seed mixture to hold slopes from rain and wind erosion.
In the event ground water is exposed, it will be covered with 2 feet of overburden to stop an
infiltration.
Don Marr
Reclamation, Mining
& Safety Coordinator
Yuma County Road and Bridge Dept.
