May 5, 2021 C-1981-008/New Horizon Mine JHB
alter the storage capacity or function of the stock pond. The stockpond was not holding any water at the time of
the inspection.
Sediment pond 12 was dry at the time of the inspection. There were no puddles, and it does not appear to have
recently held water. Pond 18 was dry as was Pond 16. Pond 13 was discharging 0.38 on the staff gauge at the
flume. The effluent was clear. The receiving water of Tuttle Gulch was slightly cloudy. CC ditch inflow to pond
13 measured 275 gpm on the gauge. Inflow from the drainage system into Pond 13 measured 59.3 and 126 on
their respective gauges.
No drainage problems were encountered throughout the permit area.
We observed GW-N40 location from the roadway, and observed that it was indeed, flooded by Calamity draw
water pooling.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS-Rule 4.15,Rule 3:
Irrigated pastures west of 2700 road are greening up and IP9 was being irrigated at the time of the
inspection. IP10 also referred to as Lloyd West, was disced up and will be replanted. The operator was not
satisfied with the initial establishment.
IP8 (Lloyd East)is greening up nicely, and irrigation side rolls were operating.
The grassed swale in the Irrigated Cropland field(Morgan property)has held up well. The farmer plans to seed
this field in accordance with NRCS planting timeframe recommendations,to reduce the chance of frost damage.
REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
The irrigated fields are becoming nicely established. Due to the lack of natural moisture, dryland areas are
still fairly thin of vegetation. Noxious weeds were not readily observed at this time of the growing season.
TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4:
The topsoil stockpile 12 has been shaped and seeded to stabilize the resource. Vegetative cover has not
yet become established but no erosion gullies or wind blowouts were noted on this topsoil stockpile.
Topsoil stockpile E footprint has been graded, and disced but not yet seeded to the permanent seedmix. Topsoil
stockpile C has been shaped and seeded. Topsoil stockpile H has been bermed and appears stable.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED The operator provided a small copy of Map 2.04.7-1A that had been submitted in
TR104.
OTHER(SPECIFY) NA
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 3 of 7
