May 5, 2021 C-2010-089/New Horizon North Mine JHB <br /> Pond 1 is damp but not holding water. The perennial grasses on the north inslope (south facing slope are <br /> beginning to recover after the extended dry conditions in 2020. No rilling or gully formation was observed on the <br /> inslopes,or ditch inlets to Pond 1. Pond 1 remains in good condition. <br /> Ditches throughout the mine site are holding up well with no obvious signs of undercutting, sediment deposition or <br /> other requirements for maintenance. <br /> Pond 2 was dry as well. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS-Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The Irrigated pasture was green and appeared that it had been regularly irrigated. The center-pivot <br /> sprinkler was operating at the time of the inspection,but it appeared that only the outer three booms were <br /> operating. The irrigated pasture is composed of an alfalfa grass mix. The alfalfa was looking healthy and several <br /> inches tall(-6"to 8"). No bare or dead patches were noted within the field. <br /> The dryland pastures adjacent to the irrigated pasture are showing the lack of natural moisture. Dryland pasture <br /> plants are present,but the dryland areas could benefit from more precipitation. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The operator used some of the topsoil stockpile to level the low spot on the NW side of the Irrigated <br /> Pasture field.
