Rifle Grave! Pit #1 Maich -0 1
1.3.2.2 Planned Material Storage Area
Proposed topsoil stockpile areas a maximum of 0.72 acres per mining stage. Each stockpile
proposed with a 1:1 side slope (not to extend above the height of the berm). See Sheet C5
of Drawings in Attachment A and Figure 9, Exhibit D, Mining Plan.
1.3.2.3 Planned Topsoil Storage Area
We assumed 1 foot of topsoil material cut during each stage over the limits of disturbed area
(LDA), corresponding to approximately 29,105 CY in Stage 1 and 14,036 CY in Stage 2. We
also assumed that the topsoil stockpile will be a cone with 2:1 side slope, corresponding to a
footprint of 0.95 acres in Stage 1 and 0.58 acres in Stage 2. The location of the topsoil
pile(s)will be determined during the site preparation activities and placed outside of the
mining footprint as well as any wetland or tailwater channel buffer areas.
1.3.2.4 Total Permit Area
The following outlines the area for each of the primary components of the mining activities.
• 26.74 acres—Stages 1 &2 mining areas
• 0.96 acres-temporary impacts associated with the installation of the dewatering
pipeline
• 1.6 acres—operations area
• Total approximate Permit Area= 30 acres (29.30 acres, rounded up)
1.3.2.5 Total Parcel Size
The Rifle Pit#1 parcel is 58 7 acres in area.
1.4 Commodity to be Mined
Approximately 1-2 Million tons of sand and gravel will be mined from the property to provide
materials for future projects. The projected duration of the commercial mining activities is 4
years.
1.5 Legal Description of Project Area and Access Road
The legal description of the project area and latitude and longitude of the access road are
provided in Section 2.0.
1.5.1 Dewatering Pipeline
Scott negotiated a temporary license agreement(Attachment B)with the owners of the
neighboring Shideler property (Parcel 217908100527)to the east that will allow Scott to bury
a 12" pipeline that will collect and convey pumped dewatered water to the Colorado River
(Attachment A). Any disturbance associated with this dewatering pipeline will be temporary
and the disturbed areas will be revegetated as the pipeline is installed.
2
