Wade Wymore of GCC accompanied the inspection and represented
the Operator. The site was active at the time of the inspection, mining, processing and hauling activies were all
taking place at the King II facility. The weather was clear and dry during the inspection and the appropriate
COVID-19 protocols were followed. The overall footprint of the site was in good condition and no maintenance
items were identified during the inspection.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
King I Facility
At the King one facility, the lower reaches of both the East and West Clear Water Ditches were observed. The
ditches appeared stable and to be functioning as designed at the time of the inspection. No standing water was
observed in the ditches and evidence of recent flows was observed. The Clear Water Ditches can be seen in
Photos One and Two.
Small amounts of standing water was obeserved on the lower refuse pile in response to recent snowmelt. The
water on the refuse pile is normal and not adversely impacting the pile. The underdrainage systems both on and
below the surface of the refuse pile appeared to be functioning as designed.
The West sediment pond, seen in Photo Three, was observed and contained a small amount of stainding water.
The sediment load appears to be within the design specifications for the pond as is suggested by the witness
indicator located near the center of the pond. The East Sediment Pond, seen in Photo Four contained no standing
water and is in good condition. The berms surrounding both ponds are well vegetated and appeared to be stable at
the time of the inspection. No state listed noxious weeds were noted in the areas.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 2 of 7
