Gunnison County has not historically required any local
land use change permits for State and/or Federal highway projects. We will not be requiring a land use change permit
for this project nor the associated gravel crushing. We are pleased to see that the crushing will be done at the project
site rather than being trucked from McCabe's.
The Public Works Department may require a reclamation permit(for ground disturbance of more than 10,000 sq.ft.) but
I don't see any other permits that will need to be applied for or received from the County. Please let me know if you
have any additional questions.Thank you.
Cathie Pagano, AICP CEP
Director of Gunnison County Community and Economic Development
221 N Wisconsin St. Suite D
Gunnison, CO 81230
Ph. 970-641-798S
From: Zane Luttrell <Zane@rockymountainaggregate.com>
Sent: Wednesday, December 2, 2020 2:54 PM
To: Cathie Pagano <CPagano@gunnisoncounty.org>
Subject: Blue Creek Hwy 50 Project
[EXTERNAL SENDER-USE CAUTION]
Good Afternoon Cathie,
We are going to be working with American Civil Constructors on the Hwy 50 Blue Creek Canyon Project in the spring of
2021. We currently work with Gunnison County out of our McCabe lane gravel pit and I had reached out to Marlene
about who to speak with regarding this Highway Job.
Our plan for the project is to:
Utilize the land directly adjacent to the newly constructed CDOT sanding shed on the
Gunnison side of the project limits.
We plan on receiving blasted rock from the excavation from the General Contractor
(likely most of it in the spring and summer of 21')
We will have a gravel crusher on site during the summer and fall of 21'to process
the rock into road base and backfill material.
That material will be then hauled back in to the job as the new road is being
completed.
i
