MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D(CONT)
Please refer to EXHIBIT B -VICINITY MAP for the property con-
figuration and the relationships to surrounding geological
features .
CURRENT CONDITIONS
MAP EXHIBIT C shows the outline of the Affected Lands; the
touching landowners; the 200 foot ownership; structures;
current topography, and hydrologic features of the property. A
portion of the land is presently being mined, under a M.L.R.B.
Permit M-2009-027, on the north side, and a material processing
site is located in the existing mine area. Surrounding prop-
erty uses include mining on the east and west . The area along
the south side is used by the property owner as rangeland and
to the north across County Road 613 the property owners irri-
gate grasslands along the Huerfano River. The eastern mine is
permitted to Huerfano County under permit M-2013-016 and the
western mine is operated by Frontier Paving & Redi-Mix under
permit M-2007-006.
North of the site between the County road and the gravel
face is an area covering 7 . 52 acres that was mined pre-law. We
suspect the material from this area was used when I-25 was
built . Very little reclamation was done on the Pre-Law area
and there appears to be little or no salvageable topsoil on the
old mine area. We expect to re-disturb approximately 5 . 10
acres ± of this area as shown on EXHIBITC -PRE-MINING PLAN MAP. A
south facing un-reclaimed slope was left when the pre-law
mining operation ended. In some areas on the northeast side, a
near vertical face exists on this old mining area. On the east
end we will blend the old slope with new south facing slope,
but no reclamation will be done on the area outside the new
permit area.
The site is currently used as a mine/rangeland and con-
sists of a gravel terrace paralleling the southern side of the
Huerfano River valley. The usable materials on this site
ranges from 5 to 30+ feet deep. The soil covering the gravel
averages 0 to 7 inches deep with a layer of overburden ranging
from 20 to 60 inches deep.
The northern boundary line starts at the northwest corner
of the existing permit and follows the northeasterly bearing
boundary line to a point just west of the access road and then
parallels the road until it intersects a line that is the
W5G- Hribnr Pit Amendment 8 REVISED 2/18/2021 November 2020
