Mr. Frank Ferris of ERMR accompanied <br />the inspection and represented the operator. <br />The mine is a mostly reclaimed surface mine. The post mining land uses are irrigated pasture and dryland pasture. <br />Portions of the operation have obtained final bond releases, and those areas have been removed from the permit <br />area. <br />The weather was cold with 1-2" of fresh show. The snow melted into the ground as the inspection progressed. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Mine records were checked at the mine office. "Availability of Records" form accompanies this report. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />A large portion of the permit area has been backfilled and graded. A portion of the SW quarter of Section <br />36 has been backfilled and partially graded. The Division has allowed the operator a delay in final grading of this <br />final pit area, as the operator is evaluating effluent limits at Pond 13. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Deer and elk track were noted around the property.
