mining will be determined by market conditions and may occur"out of sequence" before Phase 2
or Phase 1 are completed. Following the removal of surface gravels, the underlying metamorphic
bedrock will be mined in the same way as detailed in Phases 1 and 2. As the overlying Neogene
Boulder gravel is mined, remnant gravel may be used as backfill.
Phases 4 and/or 5 will be mined in the same manner as Phases 2 and 3 in the event a reservoir is
chosen for the post-mine land use (Map C-6), removing additional metamorphic rock to create a
depression instead of a flat quarry floor.
Excess waste fines and surface debris will be permanently stored in a WRL located north and
east of the processing area and the CCP. If Phases 4 and 5 are mined for a reservoir, waste from
those phases may require disposal offsite. Division approval of offsite disposal of waste will be
pursued prior to opening Phase 4 for mining.
Young Ranch Resource PIA.0
February 2020 D-7
