Additional fill for
establishment of the processing area may be imported from local construction jobs and other
sources of fill material.
Phase 1 mining will quickly follow the initiation of the site, creation of the site access area and
includes construction of the initial road, processing area, and office with truck scales. The filled
low area which will become the main processing area will be stripped of vegetation and growth
medium prior to blasting. Segregated plant debris (compacted mixed trees and sandy loam/forest
litter) will be placed into a long-term stockpile to serve as a berm along the northeastern edge of
the processing area (Figure 2, Maps C-3 and C-4). This berm will be compacted and topped with
at least 6 inches of topsoil and seeded to protect the berm from erosion and create a more
aesthetically pleasing screening berm.
Young Ranch Resource
February 2020 D-5
