List of demolished structures
7. No. 9 Portal warehouse Building in parcel 2
At the Wastewater Treatment Facility in parcel 15, structures and all infrastructure supporting the
treatment facilities have been removed. The embankment material was used as fill and the area has been
backfilled, graded, topsoiled and seeded.
List of demolished structures
8. Blower building
9. Various controls
10. Chlorinator and pumps
The Old Shop Area and Reclamation Barn (parcel 18), were established prior to statutes regulating coal
mining and reclamation and therefore topsoil salvage was not incorporated into the operations at that
time. The topsoil deficiency was addressed by analyzing the overburden to determine what if any soil
amendments were necessary. The area was graded, the best available growth media was spread, and the
area was revegetated. Two sediment ponds (SH-P 1 and SH-P2), are located in this parcel. Structures
were demolished and all materials previously stored were removed.
List of demolished structures
11. Shop Building
Drainage and the hydrologic resource are monitored throughout the site. The wider area of the Craig
basin comprises a high desert climate and low annual precipitation. Snowfall represents the predominant
form of precipitation. Ponds, ditches and diversions are depicted and described in the permit on Map 26,
Drainage and Sediment Control Map and Exhibit 18; the Drainage and Sediment Control Plan details
the design methods and calculation for all sediment control structures. Section 4.05 of MCMs permit
describes the sites diversions and conveyance of overland flow. Over time, the Division has observed
and documented in inspection reports, that if ponds hold water it is only a small puddle.
Drainages at Williams Fork Mine are trapezoidal in shape with varying bottom widths, the most
common being 2.00 feet. Ditches can be grass lined, or shale bottomed. The ditch from the mine
water pond to a sediment pond is lined with a rubberized material, has a rocky bottom and small
check dams. Various sediment ponds, a drainage (parcel 25) and un-reclaimed drainage areas (parcels
50 and 52), associated with ponds 5-P2 and 5-P3 make up hydrologic systems of this phase I bond
release request as indicated in Table I below:
Table I
Pond
Acres
Parcel
Pond
Acres
Parcel
9-P 1
2.6
22
9-P2,
3.4
26
9-P3
4.0
26
9-P5
1.1
24
9-P6
1.7
23
HR-P 1
2
29
5-P1
1.5
30
5-P2
0.4
52
5-P3
0.1
44
SH-P 1
18
SH-P2
Permit Number.
