Colorado Legacy Land Former Schwartzwalder Mine <br /> North Waste Rock Pile Diversion Channel <br /> PART 3- EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 Examination <br /> A. Verify that all surfaces to be lined are smooth, free of all foreign material, sharp objects, <br /> or debris of any kind. <br /> B. Verify that all surfaces to be lined provide a firm foundation with no sharp changes or <br /> abrupt breaks in grade. <br /> C. Verify that there is no standing water or excessive moisture on prepared subgrade. <br /> D. Certify in writing that the surface on which the geotextile is to be installed is acceptable <br /> before commencing work. <br /> 3.02 Installation <br /> A. Install geotextile on prepared surface or within trench using careful procedures with <br /> minimum handling. Unroll panels as close to their final position as possible. <br /> B. The geotextile shall be rolled down the slope in such a manner as to continuously keep <br /> the geotextile in tension by self weight. The geotextile shall be securely anchored in an <br /> anchor trench where applicable,or by other approved or specified methods. <br /> C. Geotextile Overlaps: <br /> 1. Geotextile panels shall be overlapped a minimum of 12-inches before covering. <br /> D. All holes,tears,burns, or other damage to geotextile shall be repaired by either heat <br /> bonding a patch over the damage area or by cutting out the damaged area and sewing in <br /> undamaged materials. <br /> E. Adhere to the following stipulations while working on or near geotextile: <br /> 1. No smoking shall be allowed. <br /> 2. No glass or metal containers or other sharp objects shall be used. <br /> 3. No construction installation equipment shall pass over any exposed fabric <br /> surface. <br /> 4. Remove snow and water from the ground surface prior to fabric installation. <br /> 5.
