post mining topography. The grade, slope and aspect of the reclaimed parcels were comparable
and consistent to the approved post mining topography.
7549 Parcel LA18
7500
,i 7550 7448
c 7500 7398
7450 7345
> 7400
v 7350
w
22 23 24 25 26
Point of Interest
--*--Map M12 Elevation(Ft) tMap SL 21 Elev(Ft)
Figure 4: Parcel LA18 elevation cross section as per
TW permit maps.
Highwalls have been reclaimed. Some rills were observed in the bond release parcels; however,
significant erosional features and signs of instability were not observed during the bond release
inspection. As vegetation establishes throughout the reclaimed parcels, the amount of rills
diminishes. Large swales and depressions were not observed during the inspection of the bond
release parcels. The graded parcels blend into adjacent regarded land. Each of these parcels drains
into a reconstructed channel which discharges into a system of sediment ponds. See the Drainage
Reconstruction section below for additional details.
Drainage Reconstruction
In general, each of the SL21 bond release parcels has a northeast or northwest aspect with positive
drainage established. Runoff from each parcel flows into drainage channels and then into
sedimentation ponds prior to water discharging from the site. Several reconstructed channels were
included within the bond release block as per Map 1.
o Channel in parcel FB 19 reports to Pyeatt Pond system.
o Channels in parcels, LAB 18, LAB 19 and ZA 17 report to the Middle Flume Pond
system
These areas were functional, stable and no problems were noted at the time of the inspection.
Summary and Conclusions
Based upon a review of the mine permit, the applicant's bond release application, and site inspections, the
Division finds that Trapper Mining,Inc.has completed backfilling, grading and drainage reestablishment
at the Trapper Mine in accordance with the approved reclamation plan.
Permit Number
C1981010
Prepared by: R.Reilley,MS,GISP
SL21
