Please verify that Moffat County Mining agrees with DRMS's methodology for calculating
revegetation costs associated with crop and pastureland use designations specific to
revegetation tasks 63 and 64 in the Cost Estimate Provided under separate cover.
a. Mulching was replaced by planting cover crop with Cropland and pastureland planting.
This was planted @-25 lbs/AC and cost $11.75/acre. Rangeland will still be mulch with
wood straw.
b. Task 62 should be reduced to 360.6 acres to account for acreage change.
c. Task 63 should be updated to use new Table 66 seed mix for Hay crop instead of wheat
crop. Recent seed purchase by Peabody was $89/acre for this mix. Task 63 should be
89.0 acres.
d. Task 64 needs updated to Table 66 seed mix as well, see above for cost.
4. Please clarify where the Amoco Pond and Amoco Pipeline Road are located with respect to the
submitted Map 29.
a. The Amoco Pipeline runs through the middle of the triticale field adjacent to the main
road. The pipeline was not a disturbance related to mining. A pond was proposed as a
spill control for the pipeline during subsidence to catch any oil in the event the
subsidence broke the pipeline. MCM is unsure if this pond was ever constructed. The
road to the pipeline will remain as permanent and not related to the mining operations.
Task 77 should be removed from the cost estimate.
Also, verify if the tasks 77 and 79 should be included in the cost estimate for TR38. Currently
that are included in the cost estimate under separate cover and associated with this adequacy
review.
a. The road to the pipeline will permanent and not related to the mining operations. Task
77 should be removed from the cost estimate.
