ensure that any water discharged from the site will meet the current water quality standards.
The permit number is COG 501574.
Impacts to Groundwater/Hydrologic Balance
Prowers Aggregate Operators, LLC. will monitor the groundwater levels surrounding the site
and provide groundwater recharge if necessary via perimeter ditches/ponds. Prowers Aggregate
Operators, LLC. will construct these ditches/ponds in the locations where direct discharge to an
existing adjacent irrigation lateral or creek is not available to ensure that stabilized groundwater
levels are maintained. They will discharge dewatering flows into existing adjacent irrigation
laterals or ditches where possible to limit the disturbance to the surrounding land.
To summarize the mitigation process, as each phase of mining/dewatering occurs a slurry wall
will be constructed around it to limit offsite groundwater impacts from dewatering the pit.
Prowers Aggregate Operators, LLC. will monitor the groundwater levels adjacent to mine as
each phase progresses. If groundwater levels drop to a level that prevents an adjacent well from
performing acceptably, according to that well's owner, Prowers Aggregate Operators will either
implement a groundwater recharge ditch/pond near the well in order to raise the groundwater
level in the vicinity of the well and hence return it's operation to acceptable standards, or will
negotiate an agreement with that well owner to replace the well or provide replacement water
via other means until the mining and reclamation activities are concluded.
See the attached Monitoring Well Location Map which shows the locations of monitoring wells
around the perimeter of the site that GP Aggregates, LLC. has installed in order to monitor
groundwater levels. Additional monitoring wells will be installed around future phases prior to
opening each phase in order to monitor the groundwater levels around that phase.
-' JET Consulting,Inc.
