ERC West Farm Pit Expansion Project Site
- Aquatic Resource Delineation Report
Resource E meets the criteria for a wetland based on the presence of hydrophytic vegetation, hydric soils, and
wetland hydrology. Aquatic Resource E is also defined by an OHWM.
Aquatic Resource E comprises a total of 8.95 acres and 11,743.80 linear feet within the survey area (Appendix A).
Refer to Photos 16-19 below for characteristics within Aquatic Resource D.
J
k"
Photo 16.Overview facing east of Aquatic Resource E(boundary Photo 17. Overview west of Aquatic Resource E (boundary
depicted by blue line). depicted by blue line).
Photo 18. Overview facing west of Aquatic Resource E Photo 19. Overview east of Aquatic Resource E (boundary
(boundary depicted by blue line). depicted by blue line).
4.3 OFF-SITE CONTINUATION OF AQUATIC RESOURCES
Aquatic Resource A and E were observed to have a direct surface connection to the Arkansas River outside of the
survey area (Red Polygon on Figure 3). Aquatic Resource A (Teal Line in western portion of survey area on Figure
3)can be directed to flow directly into the Arkansas River(Blue Line north of survey area boundary)via an irrigation
control valve. Aquatic Resource A also can be directed via the same irrigation control valve to flow into Aquatic
Resource C (Yellow Line in central portion of the survey area on Figure 3). Aquatic Resource C eventually drains
into a large irrigation retention pond within the survey area and terminates in uplands. Aquatic Resource B (Pink
Polygon north of survey area) is limited to a low depression and terminates in uplands. Aquatic Resource B
hydrology is supported by seepage from three water retention ponds north of the survey area. Aquatic Resource
D (Purple Polygon in the central portion of the survey area on Figure 3) is limited to a man-made irrigation
retention pond and terminates in uplands in the form of berms. These berms surround Aquatic Resource D entirely.
Aquatic Resource E (Green Line on Figure 3) flows east for approximately 2.22 miles from the survey area before
flowing out of the survey area where it continues for 0.8 miles before draining into the Arkansas River(Blue Line
on Figure 3)a TNW. Aquatic Resources B,C,and D appear to terminate in uplands within the survey area and have
no connectivity to waters of the U.S. Refer to Figure 3.Table 2 is an assessment of wetland connectivity.
11
