PERMIT#:P-2003-018
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ACY
INSPECTION DATE:June 30,2020
necessary this fall to make up for a poor growing season.
Pad 62-23-199 (B6-23): Very long access road that will remain a two track. Vegetation is establishing well but
remains sparse. Pad currently has a hot-fence enclosure to keep out the wild horses but has been
ineffective. Horses have grazed the new vegetation extremely hard. Overall plant cover is very low due
to nearly all of the grasses being grazed to the ground and low shrub content. No weeds were observed.
Approximately 30%of the pad was re-drilled in 2019 for touch up spots. Monitor vegetation recovery,
additional seeding may be required.
Pad 13-14-298: Cheatgrass continues to inhibit reclamation. Areas that were spot treated have little to no
desirable cover. Outside of the treatment areas native species appear to be well established with
adequate density and diversity.
Pad 12-22-298: Adequate density and diversity, native species appear to be well established. Approximate 70%
total cover being predominantly shrubs. Cheatgrass clusters are out competing natives and should
continue to be treated.
*Pad 11-16-298: CR goes through middle of pad. Lots of shrub establishment. Grasses are present but have
been grazed very hard, Site in general appears sparse due to rocky soils and grazing pressure but plant
composition is there. Adequate densities of native vegetation. No weeds present. Final reclamation has
been achieved.
*Pad 7-18-298: Pad is nearly all shrubs at 80% cover. Sparse grass understory, Cheatgrass areas are being
managed. Vegetation density and diversity is comparable to surrounding vegetation. Final reclamation
has been achieved.
*Pad 1-11-299: Pad has good desirable plant establishment. Has been grazed heavily making some areas appear
more sparse. Very little Russian thistle on site.Native vegetation is out competing weeds. Final
reclamation has been achieved.
*Pad 4-1-299: Short access road mostly made up of grasses. The pad is predominantly grasses with some
shrubs and overall 80%+ cover. Only a handful of weeds. Grazing of the pad is spotty, some patches are
very sparse but the plants are there.Native vegetation is out competing weeds. Final reclamation has
been achieved
*Airplane Ridge Road(Public Portion): Through road to private lands. No reclamation completed to date.
*Indicates pads where final reclamation has been achieved. If the operator submits an acreage release request
within 60 days this inspection will count as the acreage release inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Amy Yeldell at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, CO 80203. Direct contact can be made by phone at 303-
866-3567 Ext 8183 or via email at amy.yeldell@state.co.us
Page 3 of 12
