Page 11
Public Safety
- Public safety will be maintained throughout the life of the Project, by means of locks, grates,
signage, and real-time surveillance through remote cameras.
Plants and Wildlife
- Measures will be taken to minimize any impact on the habitats of plants and wildlife within the
Project Area. There are no known burrows, homes,or nests within the Project Area. If a new
burrow, home,or nest is established within the life of the Project, Miners Mall will immediately
contact the BLM or USFWS to determine the best course of action to be taken. Miners Mall will
ensure the best action to be taken with reasonable and prudent measure, terms and conditions,
and reporting requirements.
Soil and Water Resources
- A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)will be implemented to control sedimentation
from the Project disturbance. BMPs will be installed to manage stockpile areas and other
disturbed surfaces. Sediment control structures could include, but not limited to, plastic/vinyl
tarps, fabric and/or weed-free straw bale filter fences, siltation or filter berms, and
downgradient drainage channels to prevent unnecessary or undue degradation to the
environment.
Vegetation
- Reclamation will be attempted concurrently if possible; but will definitely occur upon
completion of mining activities, which will include recontouring, scarification and reseeding with
appropriate seed mixture and application rates. Weed-free straw bales will be broken apart to
use as mulch and cover to allow revegetation.
Visual Resources
All structures will be masked using color schemes similar to the terrain, and where possible
removed from the viewshed from the highway.
