Page 5
Phase Two consists of underground mining operations to remove the veins from within the fault.
Mining direction will be inward and downward—NOT UPWARD as previous operations have
followed. Mining will be conducted by hand, solely utilizing hand tools,to preserve the mineral
specimen quality. The Geotechnical Stability of the Precambrian crystalline bedrock is remarkably
high, even without engineering supports(i.e. rock bolts), as observed in Unaweep Canyon, where
cliffs of the same rock exceed 500 feet. Any loose or unstable granite found within the above-
mentioned seam, will be removed,or braced using expanding steel load bars. Similar steel load
bars will be used to support ladders and other access points into and within the seam for safety
once the cut is deep enough to require.ALL miners will be MSHA certified to work within the Siberia
Portal.A ventilation system will be established as needed, as well as MSHA required safety cache
installed as the need arises. The portal is currently covered by a metal grate. It will always be
locked when no personnel are present,to prevent humans or large animals from entering the
portal. Presumed ore will be removed from the underground workings and the site by hand, as it is
mined for processing offsite.
Phase Three consists of reclamation of all Disturbance within the Project Area. All unnecessary
equipment will be removed from the site. Waste Rock will be dumped down into the portal. Where
needed, additional topsoil and growth medium will be brought to the site. The BLM & DRMS
approved seed mix will then be applied at the specified rate by hand, raked into the soil and covered
with Certified Weed-Free Straw as mulch.
Material Processing
Miners Mall will take all material collected offsite by foot, using backpacks and wheelbarrow. All
cleaning and processing will be completed at an offsite location under private ownership in
accordance with all local, state, and Federal laws and regulations.
Miners Mall proposes sorting and storage of smaller waste material for final reclamation;to enrich
the soil adjacent to the portal to allow better seed growth.
Project Access and Transportation
Miners Mall will utilize an existing parking area adjacent to CO-141 for vehicles. Access to the
project area will be via an existing disturbance to gain access to the mine site. The existing
disturbance is an un-reclaimed single-track trail that is 300 feet in length. As part of the reclamation
plan,we will seed the trail with DRMS approved seed mix. This route is defined in Appendix A—
Diagram 3. This area is included in the Reclamation Bond Estimate.
Work Force
The work force for the Project is projected to be a maximum of six(6)employees on site during the
stabilization (Phase 1)and Reclamation (Phase 3). Phase 2 will likely require a maximum workforce
of four(4)employees.All employees will maintain MSHA Surface and Underground Metal/Non-
metal Mining(Part 48)certification. No underground operations will occur unless there are 2 or
more miners on site.
