Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> R -Processing Waste N - Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection by Leigh Simmons of the Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> (Division). Bob Munz of Mountain Coal Company(MCC) accompanied the inspection. The weather was clear, <br /> hot and dry,with wildfire smoke in the air. The mine was active. <br /> MCC had laid off 21 people earlier in the week. The pattern of shifts at the mine had also been changed in <br /> response to market conditions. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(l): <br /> Records were available in the mine office. Details are given at the end of this report. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE-Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Water was being pumped from the MB-5E pond into the RPE pond at the time of the inspection for filling <br /> water trucks for road dust suppression. <br /> The roadside ditch on the RPEE haul road,just below the first hairpin had been compromised by loose <br /> material that had slid into the ditch from above,possibly as a result of work done to build up the roadside berm <br /> above the hairpin. MCC cleared the material from the ditch and sent photographs by email on Monday(August <br /> 17)to document the work. <br /> GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> The longwall was in the SS 1 panel,between cross-cuts 21 and 20 on the SS 1 head gate. <br /> Development of the SS2 head gate was complete,but development of the SS2 start line had not yet begun. <br /> No further progress had been made on the development of the Sunset Mains South(work was complete to <br /> around cross-cut 31). <br /> Development of the slopes from the E-seam to the B-seam was complete, and development of the B <br /> Southwest Mains had begun,but was currently idle. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1 <br /> Page 2 of 22 <br />
