NEWMONT 4 N-c V i q, r3,i
43. Drcaring F-1 Topo"a hi. Approximate Post alining Topography depicts two large areas of
restricted access, the East Cresson aline—.North Cresson aline and the .Main Cresson _Mine. Prior
versions of'Drtnving F-1 submitted with M-12 and_-M-11 distinguished the areas within this
restricted access area with cross hatching where no growth medium nor reclamation will occur and
41 solid color showing where the Applicant has previously committed to reclaiming accessible haul
roads and pit,floors. Please revise the Exhibit F daps to show where revegetation will and will not
occur within the restricted access areas.
Newmont Response:
Comment noted. The drawings provided in Exhibit F have been updated to correct the contours. See
updated drawings in Attachment 9.
DBMS Comment(italics):
44. Alain Cresson final topography. The Division believes there is an error in the depicted finul
topography of the Alain Cresson aline. Previous versions of the Reclamation Plan clap, as approved
in.4,11--11 and.4a1-12, show the northern and southern portions of the Alain Cresson us backfilled
slopes and a backfillecl pit floor to 9,"60'. The A I--13 Reclamation Plan clap shows limited
backfilling in the northern portion of the Alain Cresson and a pit floor with no buckfill at 8,990'.
Please explain if the Applicant is now proposing to not buckfill the Alain Cresson as previoush,
approvecl or submit revised maps which show the final proposed topography.
Newmont Response:
With CC&V's proposed expansion of ECOSA and tentative plans for underground operations, no backfill
is planned within the main Cresson pit: with the exception of a small lift to level the pit floor to support
underground exploration operations. Please see the revised drawings in Attachment 9.
DRMS Comment(italics):
45. Facilities tit Final Reclamation. The Exhibit F maps depict ADR1, ADR?, Ironclad Facilities, and
the fuel island Please remove these features as these are currently not proposed to remain at final
reclamation.
Newmont Response:
Comment noted. The drawings provided in Exhibit F have been updated and facilities that will not remain
after reclamation have been removed. See updated drawings in Attachment 9.
6.4.7 EXHIBIT G—Water Information
DBMS Comment(italics):
46. Page 4, .Yection 2.1.3 Poverty Gulch. The narrative states Poverty Gulch is an ephemeral drainage,
but that it has historically exhibited no flow. Ephemeral drainages by definition experience flows
during significant snow•melt and ruin events. Division inspections in the Poverty Gulch area indicate
