6.4.8 EXHIBIT H—Wildlife Information
Colorado Parks and Wildlife Division have been contacted and requested to review and
comment on the information presented in this application.
Significant wildlife resources that may be found habituating the area include deer, coyote, fox,
bobcat, skunk, cotton tail and jack rabbits, a variety of ground dwelling rodents including prairie
dog colonies nearby but not on site due to control measures in place to minimize burrowing
animals on lands used for livestock grazing, many bird and reptile species
No endangered or threatened species are known to habit the affected land or nearby area.
No prairie dog colony populations capable of supporting black-tailed ferret populations are
known to be present in the surrounding area. Information provided by the Fremont County
Planning and Zoning Department has stated that existing prairie dog colonies established in the
general area do not display evidence of black-tailed ferret dwelling in the area.
Due to the marginal condition of graze land prior to mining disturbance, mining will have little to
no negative impact on large animal habitat.
