(b) Earthmoving; Stripping operations may precede gravel extraction by a couple of months but total
disturbed area will not exceed Phase 1 total acreage until bond has been placed for Phase 2 acreage.
Outside contractors will be used for crushing, screening, and stockpiling operations to result in a year's
volume of estimated sand and gravel sales. It is estimated that crushing and screening operations will
take place two to three months per year. The remainder of the year, sand and gravel products will be
loaded off of stockpiles utilizing front end loader directly into customer trucks. In between times of
active crusher operations, overburden will be pushed from the south end of that working phase
northward to result in final grades no greater than 4:1, (H:V)on mined out Osborn land and no greater
than 3:1(H:V)on Wild Burro Investment LLC property.
(c)Water Diversions and impoundments:
No water diversions or impoundments are planned for within the amended acreage area. Drainage will
be maintained to allow for meteoric derived surface flow westward and south to the existing sediment
pond located at the southern end of the original permit area. The existing sediment control structure is
approximately 90 feet in diameter and 14 feet deep, capable of holding(72 hour)up to 1 acre foot of
stormwater prior to potential discharge by way of a weir located at the southwestern reach of the
sediment pond berm to the Eight Mile Creek drainage. However,to date, no storm events have resulted
in sediment pond discharge. Prior to completion of Phase 1 mining,a second sediment control pond of
similar dimensions will be excavated immediately north of the existing structure, doubling holding
capacity for the increased potential storm run-off potential of the additionally disturbed land area. Prior
to completion of Phase 3 mining, a third sediment pond structure of similar dimension and operational
aspect as the first two may be added immediately north of the second pond if necessary to limit storm
discharge rates to equal or less than historic discharge rates. The three sediment control structures will
allow for temporary collection of sediment laden surface run-off with holding time of 72 hours.
(d)Size of Areas to be Worked At One Time
Maximum area to be worked at one time will be as follows starting at amendment approval and
progressing over time dependent on sand and gravel demand:
Phase 1---3 acres including 6.5 acres of Osborn property and 6 acres located in north end of Wild Burro
Investment LLC property adjacent to and immediately south of Osborn mining tract. It is estimated that
Phase 1 area will provide about 400,000 tons of sand and gravel product, enough to support sales for 5-
6 years. Time frame estimation: 2020-2025.
