Site Description (cont) Exhibit B
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
There are not permanent buildings within 200 feet of the
permit boundary. The structures consist of fences to the most
part and a single privately owned power line and pole just
outside the southeast corner of the property. There are 3 fences
owned by the permit holder on the south, west and east side of
the property and a single fence along the access easement on the
eastern adjoining property. There are 2 fences south of the
permit line, the closest is nearly 185+ feet from the permit
line .
There are no above or below ground communication, bridges,
wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments, railroad tracks,
cemeteries or communication antennas within 200 feet of the
affected lands .
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on the site. The closest
stream is Smith Creek that at its closest point is approximately
85 feet north of the permit at an elevation of -7942 . The floor
of the mine will be approximately 60 feet above the creek.
Review of well records for the area in the State Engineers well
database on the surrounding areas indicates the water table is
from 5 to 150 feet or more below the floor level of the mine.
The closest well is approximately 280 feet south of the permit
area. The top of the static water level reported on the well
drilling log is approximately 5 foot lower then the floor. The
next closest to the east is 371 feet from the permit area and the
static water level reported was 70 feet below the surface or
approximately 7980 or 20 feet lower then the floor of the graded
area.
The intend for this project to say minimum of 5 feet above
the water table so that the excavation will not reach the ground
water table . We will not affect the hydrologic balance of
surface or subsurface water in the area. No water will be used
at the mine for processing, if needed for dust control it will be
purchased from the Granby Fire Department or Town and hauled to
the project area.
The exact amount to be purchased is unknown at this time, we
estimate that under normal conditions approximately 2 acre-ft per
year or 5, 000 gallons per truck load will be needed.
Track 4 Grading Project July 22, 2020
21
