2019 Plan of Operations Modification American Gypsum Company, LLC <br /> 5.0 LEGAL DESCRIPTION AND OWNERSHIP <br /> 5.1 Legal Description <br /> The Mine is in Eagle County, Colorado in Sections 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33, Township 4 South, <br /> Range 85 West, 6th Principal Meridian. <br /> Table 5.1 includes the legal description for the proposed permit expansion area. Drawing 03 also shows private <br /> land owned by American Gypsum and surrounding lands managed by BLM. <br /> 5.2 Surface and Mineral Ownership <br /> All the lands in the proposed disturbance areas are public lands managed by the BLM CRVFO. <br /> Nearby private lands owned by American Gypsum are shown on Drawing 03. American Gypsum <br /> has unpatented mining claims for the lands in the proposed disturbance area, as shown on <br /> Drawing 03. <br /> 5.3 General Description <br /> The Mine is in the Southern Rocky Mountains physiographic province (Fenneman, 1928) at <br /> elevation ranging from about 6600 feet to 7300 feet above mean sea level (amsl). The terrain is <br /> characterized by narrow ridges and steep slopes dropping to narrow, V-shaped drainages that <br /> drain to the Eagle River, south of 1-70. <br /> 5.4 Access <br /> The site can be accessed by taking the Gypsum exit from 1-70 north approximately%-mile to Trail <br /> Gulch Road (Eagle County Road No. S-51). Navigational signage indicating "Gypsum Mine <br /> Private" is posted at the Mine entrance, intended to discourage the general public from the Mine. <br /> Am Gypsum Poo Mod ISSD 20190909 September 2019 1181 <br />
