June 3, 2020 C-1984-065/Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine ZTT
Within the sagebrush revegetation area, the following vegetation was identified:
Smooth Brome (Bromus inermis), Western Wheatgrass (Pascopyrum smithii), Great Basin Wildrye (Leymus
cinereus), Bulbous Bluegrass (Poa bulbosa), Wyoming Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata ssp. wyomingensis),
Rubber Rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa), Scarlet Globemallow (Sphaeralcea coccinea), Alfalfa (Medicago
sativa), Cicer Milkvetch (Astragalus cicer), and minor amounts of Field Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
The vegetative ground cover and species diversity observed during the inspection in both the sagebrush and
dryland pasture revegetation areas was consistent with the vegetation reports presented in SL -03.
The Division observed small amounts of Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans) and Scotch Thistle (Onopordum
acanthium), both are List B noxious weeds. There was no evidence these few observed Musk Thistle and Scotch
Thistle plants have been established within the permit area for more than a growing season which likely explains
why they are not present in the 2018 nor 2019 vegetation sampling data.
SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02:
Mine identification sign was located at the gated entrance to the Coal Ridge Mine. All information for compliance
was located and no issues were observed.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 3 of 7
