However, given the
deficit in required liability of $420,885.55, the Division cannot release any required liability
amount with the proposed approval of SL20. The new required surety amount will be set at
$29,491,874.54 which is $162,813.80 more than the current required surety amount of
$29,329,060.74 from when TR124 was approved. The Division currently holds a corporate surety
for the Trapper Mine in the amount of $30,500,000.00. Should TMI elect to reduce their bond to
the required surety amount of $29,491,874.54, this amount will be sufficient to complete
reclamation of the affected land.
Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposed decision
may request a formal public hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board in accordance
with Rule 3.03.2(6). Public notice of this proposed decision will be published twice in the Craig
Daily Press as soon as possible. Requests for public hearing must be submitted to the Division in
writing within thirty days of the first publication in the Craig Daily Press. If no hearing is requested
within those thirty days, the Division's decision becomes final.
Permit Number C1981010
SL20 Page 16 of 17
