May 12, 2020 C-1980-007/West Elk Mine LDS <br />Development miners were working on the SS2 head gate at around cross -cut 17, and on the Sunset Mains <br />South at around cross -cut 31. <br />Development of the slopes from the E -seam to the B -seam was largely complete. <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />Processing waste was being temporarily stockpiled on the surface of the RPE. The haul road to the RPEE <br />was soft and muddy in the warm spring conditions; no attempt was made to access the RPEE. <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />Recent reclamation on the north west corner of the outslope of the RPE had begun to turn green, as seed <br />was beginning to germinate in its first growing season. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Topsoil piles were well marked and well vegetated.
