March 11,2020 C-1980-004/McClane Canyon Mine CCW <br /> The Sumps located along the length of the portion of the haul road that extends to the portals bench we stable with <br /> no erosional features observed. The sumps were dry with the exception of the lowest sump (Photo 3). There was <br /> no discharge from the lowest sump to the sediment pond. <br /> There are two sumps located at the east end of the portals bench, the north eastern sump and the south eastern <br /> sump (Photo 4). Both of the sumps were dry during the inspection. <br /> The ditches along the haul road were dry during the inspection. There were no observed erosional features. The <br /> ditches had no obstructions observed in the channels. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The coal waste pile (Photo 5)is located to the east of the sediment pond. The pile was stable with no <br /> erosional issues. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3),Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5) and(6),Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The haul road was in good repair. The road was stable and the ditches were clear of obstructions. The <br /> section of the haul below the portals bench had minor riling occurring on it. The rills led to sediment control <br /> structures and were not impacting the accessibility of the portals bench. The rills were documented by the <br /> operator's representative and will be included in the spring maintenance. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification signs were located on the entrance gate to the mine site. The signs displayed all of <br /> the information regarding the mine permit,permittee and the division. The information on the sign was up to date. <br /> The topsoil marker was placed on top of the topsoil pile in an unobstructed spot that was easy to identify. The <br /> sign was in good condition, <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The topsoil pile was stable with no indications of erosional features (Photo 6). The pile is covered with <br /> vegetation. The perimeter ditch and berm were in good condition and stable.
