disturbance of the mining operation. The maximum mining disturbance at any one time will be 5-10
acres in size, not including the faculties area.
A natural visual berm will be left in place along the western edge of the disturbed area in order to
control stormwater runoff by directing it into the disturbed areas, where it will infiltrate into the
ground water table. No stormwater will be discharged from the site. Only the internal mine road,
conveyor belt, and the facilities area will be sources of constant disturbance. At no point will the
entire site be disturbed.
Topsoil and overburden will be used to construct the berms as shown on Map C -2A at the
beginning of operations. These berms will be revegetated within seven days of its construction
being complete. Topsoil and overburden will be stored in separate berms.
The initial cuts in Pits 2 and 3 will supply topsoil and overburden to be used in the reclamation of a
previously mined area. The stockpiled topsoil and overburden are anticipated to be used in final
reclamation of the pits.
All material will be crushed and screened, with some material being further crushed and some
material being washed. Initial crushing and screening will take place nearer to the active mining
highwall, with a loader directly feeding the mobile crusher/screen. This crushed and screened
material is then transported to the facilities area nearer the site entrance by means of a continuous
conveyor belt situated three feet above the ground. Map C -2A shows the site layout including the
conveyor belt route.
Material transferred to the facilities area may be directly loaded into equipment for off-site delivery.
Material not directly loaded onto equipment for delivery will be stored in stockpiles in the facilities
area (Map C -2A). Portions of this material are further processed to produce higher value products
such as washed rock or further crushed and screened to be sold to off-site asphalt or concrete
production. The pit will have one or two off-highway haul trucks on-site in order to efficiently
move material in the pit. The off-highway haul trucks used for relocating stockpiles and
transporting customer supplied fill material from the facilities area to the crusher and screener
should not need to be operated continuously in the pit.
Rincon Materials D-2 Grey; lxwicki and Ass iafm PLLC
February 2020
