MATERIALS CORPORATION <br /> Castle Aggregate <br /> Specifications for Engineered Fill <br /> Pikeview Quarry <br /> Permit No. M-1977-211 AM-04 <br /> February 7, 2020 <br /> 1.0 Engineered Fill <br /> 1.1 Engineered fill is defined as fill, which is selected, placed, and compacted to an <br /> appropriate specification so that it will perform to the required engineered behavior. <br /> 1.2 Fill shall be classified as: <br /> a. General Fill <br /> b. Unsuitable fill <br /> c. Restricted fill <br /> d. Hazardous fill <br /> e. Special fill <br /> 1.3 Unsuitable fill shall comprise materials designated as: <br /> a. Cohesive soils having a liquid limit of greater than 40 or plasticity index greater <br /> than 65. <br /> b. Any material containing more than 5% of organic material or biodegradable <br /> material. <br /> c. Any material from hazardous contaminated sites. <br /> d. Any material designated as unsuitable by the engineer that cannot be properly <br /> placed and compacted due to shape, size, or substance. <br /> 1.4 We will not import any restricted fill or hazardous fill to this site <br /> 1.5 Special fill shall be comprised of concrete rubble as broken down in the demolition <br /> process or delivered in a rubble state from special construction sites as concrete only <br /> that is free of rebar or contaminates. No size shall be greater than 12" in any <br /> dimension. Concrete shall be broken by mechanical breaker to suitable sized rubble. <br /> All rebar shall be removed by equipment and hand labor and delivered to an <br /> Pikeview Quarry Amendment 4 <br /> D-9 <br />
