CRG Mining, LLC
510 S.Wisconsin St.
Gunnison,CO 81230
January 15, 2020
Dustin Czapla
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver,CO 80203
Re: Sacramento Access Tunnel, Permit M-2016-084, Request for Technical Revision, Enlarge Tunnel
Dimensions
Dear Mr.Czapla,
CRG Mining, the permittee and operator of the above-named permitted mine, wishes to request a
technical revision to the permit. Specifically,we wish to increase the dimensions of an approved tunnel
from 8 ft x 8 ft, up to 12 ft x 12 ft. This will allow us to use larger equipment in the mine while also
improving our ability to properly ventilate the workings.
The Sacramento Tunnel is the lower of the two crosscut tunnels approved for the site (we refer to the
upper tunnel as the Dunraven). It will be 400 feet in length, and the inert waste rock to be mucked from
driving the tunnel, less than 500 cubic yards, will be used to construct the lower working pad. This
requested enlargement will approximately double the amount of waste rock to be placed on the pad,
but the increased amount will still fit into the area approved for the pad. We have installed the bypass
(underdrain) pipe, and will install adequate sediment control around the perimeter of the new dump
material.
The landowner of the site, Gold Links Mining, wishes for all underground openings to have securable,
durable steel and concrete entryways(as shown in their statement included with the permit
application). The Sacramento portal was approved to have such a structure. With the approval of this
TR,the originally-planned 8x8 structure will be replaced in the plan with a 12x12 installation of the same
type of construction. This should result in no additior-1 bond amount for the permit.
No other drainage or reclamation changes are proposed, and no concerns are anticipated with this TR.
There being no other site changes proposed, no updated mining or reclamation map has been enclosed
with this request.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jake Wilkinson
Manager,CRG Mining, LLC
Encl: TR Request form,TR fee($216)
