N Pit Update; Shrub Density Standard; Impoundment As-builts <br />Dear Ms. Reilley: <br />Enclosed is a copy of a mine and reclamation plan for N Pit, an update of the shrub density standard and <br />several impoundment as -built designs. The enclosed material includes text, tables and maps that present <br />the proposed changes. This includes 201.4 acres of additional re -disturbance in N -Pit. Previously <br />permitted re -disturbance acreage (161.4 acres) in TR -119 has been considered and removed from the <br />stripping and reclamation cost in the attached bond calculations. Appendix A. Page 2 demonstrates this <br />calculation. The revised bond calculation has also included the recent bond reductions associated with <br />SL -18 and SL -19. Significant proposed changes include: <br />• N Pit going from a dipline orientation to a strikeline orientation, with associated changes to <br />highwall mining orientations; <br />Creation of a temporary out -of -pit spoil dump necessary for final N Pit backfill; <br />The following revised permit text pages are enclosed and updated as follows: <br />• 3-15a. N Pit updated from dipline to strikeline; highwall mining orientation changed from west to <br />north -south. <br />• 3-15b. Eliminated discussion of N Pit from being evaluated for mining to will be mined. <br />• 3-15c. N Pit paragraph added to Reclamation Plan section. <br />• 3-44. Updated N Strike Pit boxcut discussion. <br />• 4-113, 4-116 & 4-119. Revised shrub density standard to either use shrub clumps or achieve a <br />higher density standard. <br />The following revised permit tables are enclosed: <br />Table 4.8-6 (pages 1 [4-185], 2 [4-186] and 3 [4-186a]) and Table 4.8-7 (pages 1 [4-189], 2 [4- <br />190] and 3 [4-190a]) to include as -built information for Deacon, Deal and Jeffway ponds. <br />The following additions to Appendices are enclosed: <br />Appendix A. Supplemental addendum to bond calculations currently in App A. <br />
