For any suspected response to anthrax or biological hazard emergencies, <br /> response procedures will be in accordance with ERT procedure dealing with anthrax and biological <br /> hazard emergencies. The intent of the emergency spill response plan is to provide essential information <br /> and the protocol to follow in the event of a hydrocarbon or chemical spillage. <br /> 5.15 Medical Emergencies/Accidents <br /> 5.15.1 In the event of a serious injury/accident, the first priority is prevention of additional injury. The first <br /> responder should take all precautions to prevent injury to his self and others prior to commencing a <br /> rescue. Move the victim only if they are in grave danger. Trained first aid personnel are scheduled on <br /> each shift and should be contacted as soon as possible to render aid and transport the injured <br /> 5.15.2 Assess the accident scene: <br /> (a) Secure the scene before entering. <br /> (b) Identify the mechanism of injury. <br /> (c) Assess the victim with care. <br /> (d) Treat/Stabilize life-threatening injuries. <br /> 5.15.3 Notify the area supervisor or dispatch or mill control by radio or phone; State: "I have a Medical <br /> Emergency" and give location. <br /> 5.15.4 The area supervisor is responsible for: <br /> (a) Calling for the response of all emergency personnel needed, and requesting radio silence <br /> when necessary. <br /> (b) Providing unobstructed access to and from the scene for emergency personnel and <br /> equipment. <br /> (c) Providing any additional support requested by emergency personnel. <br /> (d) Notifying Security, HSLP, and Management. <br /> 5.15.5 Radio silence must be maintained during the emergency, when requested. <br /> Department THIS DOCUMENT IS UNCONTROLLED IN HARD COPY FORMAT Doc Id:NA-CCV-HSLP-PLAN-1775 <br /> Health Safety&Loss Prevention Date of This Issue:25 June 2018 Date of Next Review:25 June 2019 Page 26 of 38 <br />
