SECURE AREA ➢ Divert traffic and people away from the immediate area. <br /> Evacuate if necessary. <br /> 5. CONTAIN ➢ Contain the leakage using temporary berms, booms etc. <br /> 6. RECOVER PRODUCT ➢ Recover any free liquid into purpose built containers if possible. <br /> ➢ Recover absorbent booms etc. <br /> 7. CLEAN UP ➢ Clean-up the spill by pumping, absorbing, chemically treating. <br /> ➢ DO NOT SPREAD OR DILUTE SPILLS WITH DEGREASERS, <br /> DETERGENTS OR WATER. <br /> 8. DISPOSE ➢ Dispose of the spilled product as directed by the S&ER <br /> Department. <br /> ➢ Contaminated soil should be removed to an appropriate area <br /> (e.g. Hydrocarbon contaminated soil can be remediated . <br /> 9. CONFIRM CLEAN UP ➢ Clean-up all obvious contamination as directed by the S&ER <br /> Department; if contaminated area is indistinct(due to moisture, <br /> rain), collect samples for analysis. <br /> ➢ All cyanide contaminated soil >_ .2 PPM WAD must be <br /> excavated or treated in place. <br /> ➢ Monitor the spill site to validate clean up and impact on the <br /> environment. <br /> 10. REPORTING ➢ Enter all information into Cintellate as soon as possible including <br /> pictures and any lab analyses performed. <br /> ➢ Any external reporting shall be conducted by S&ER Department. <br /> 11. REPLACE USED ➢ Any equipment or materials consumed in the cleanup operation <br /> EQUIPMENT should be replaced as soon as possible. <br /> ➢ Items to restock Spill Kits can be obtained from Warehouse. <br /> 12.
