( CN' Emergenc-, Response Plan <br /> 4.2 Responsible Roles and Position-Holders <br /> 4.2.1 General Responsibilities for All Employees <br /> The following are general responsibilities for all employees to follow in the event of an emergency <br /> however a person's specific role and responsibilities may differ: <br /> 1. Notify the supervisor of the emergency situation. See Code 90 Procedure <br /> 2. Report the emergency as described in 5.2 of this plan. <br /> 3. Provide help until the appropriate response team(s) arrives. Never place yourself or <br /> others in danger, especially during fires, or chemical emergencies. <br /> 4. For emergency evacuations follow the procedures outlined in 5.9 of this plan. <br /> 5. If an alarm is sounded or you are instructed to do so, evacuate the area to designated <br /> assembly points and stay there until you are instructed to leave. <br /> 6. If an evacuation takes place, follow the directions. Make sure you and any visitors you <br /> are responsible for are accounted for by your supervisor. <br /> 7. If you are responsible to perform shutdown procedures, know your responsibilities and <br /> perform them accordingly. <br /> 8. If responders are already at the scene of an emergency, do not go to the scene to watch <br /> or offer assistance unless you are personally called to the scene. <br /> 4.2.2 General Manager <br /> The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of an emergency. This does not <br /> mean however that he/she must direct all parties involved. Rather, the General Manager may <br /> use key personnel to achieve a satisfactory outcome to an emergency situation. The General <br /> Manager shall evaluate the emergency and determine whether the Rapid Response Team is to <br /> be mobilized or whether local expertise will suffice. <br /> 4.2.3 Managers/General Foreman/Supervisors <br /> In an emergency each Manager/General Foreman and Supervisor will check his/her own area of <br /> responsibility. If the emergency arises in his/her area or will affect his/her area they will remain <br /> there and report to the Site Manager and assist with the coordination of emergency response <br /> efforts. When the appropriate Manager is not on site the Mine Foreman or his/her designate will <br /> assume responsibility for their department, manage the area and provide support to mine rescue. <br /> Preserve the scene evidence/security. Prevent secondary hazards. <br /> 4.2.4 Health and Safety Manager <br /> Responsible for regulatory reporting (immediately). Liaise with the Site Rapid Response Team, <br /> Health & Safety Representatives, Emergency Response Teams and relevant personnel. <br /> Coordinate assistance from outside organizations if required and disseminates warnings and <br /> information as required. <br /> 4.2.5 Security <br /> Provide crowd control at the scene of the emergency, secure and guard the scene of the accident <br /> as directed by management. Security will also restrict access to the emergency scene or the mine <br /> site and make calls to outside agencies as directed by management. <br /> 4.2.6 Emergency Response Trainer/Coordinator <br /> The Emergency Response Trainer/Coordinator or their designate must be contactable at all <br /> times, both during office hours and after hours. During office hours, the Team Trainer must be in <br /> close proximity to a radio, page phone or telephone.
