Standard OperatingProcedure <br /> Heavy NEWMONT <br /> Equipment fueling <br /> CC&V Mine Operations <br /> Introduction <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE <br /> To define the standard operating procedure for fueling heavy equipment at the Fuel <br /> Island. <br /> 2.0 SCOPE <br /> Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are prepared for an activity, process, or task <br /> that, if conducted under uncontrolled conditions, could have a significant impact on: <br /> — The Safety of Employees. <br /> The security of employees and Newmont property. <br /> — Newmont's social license to operate, including impacts to Environment, Safety, and <br /> Community Relations. <br /> — Newmont Values. <br /> 3.0 Definitions <br /> 3.1 Fuel Island — permanent fueling facilities designated for fueling mobile <br /> equipment. <br /> 3.2 Fuel Techs —technician responsible for servicing equipment with fuel and adding <br /> make-up oils. <br /> 3.3 Supervisors — Mine operations Shifter and Mine maintenance Shifter <br /> 4.0 Acronyms <br /> 4.1 PPE — Personal Protective Equipment <br /> 4.2 HSS — Health Safety & Security <br /> 4.3 S&ER — Sustainability & External Relations <br /> 5.0 Responsibilities <br /> 5.1 All will <br /> 5.1.1 Operate according to procedures listed in this document as well as all <br /> other established Newmont Safety and Environmental procedures. <br /> Comply when specific instructions are given from the supervisor or <br /> dispatch. <br /> 5.1.2 Verbally communicate to dispatch and supervisors when concerns about <br /> procedures or conditions are encountered. <br /> 5.1.3 Comply with HSS/ PPE Requirements <br /> 5.1.4 Never remove radiator caps or pressurized system caps unless you are a <br /> maintenance technician. <br /> 5.1.5 Know where all emergency stops and fire extinguishers are located. <br /> 5.1.6 Check work area for good access and secure footing. <br /> 5.1.7 Obey no smoking and open flame signs at the fuel island. <br /> 5.1.8 Report any deficiencies to mine maintenance shifter, mine operations <br /> shifters or dispatch <br /> 5.1.9 Report and clean any fuel spills immediately. <br /> --------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- - -----------------------------------------------------------------.-- ---- <br /> Department THIS DOCUMENT IS UNCONTROLLED IN HARD COPY FORMAT Doc Id:NA-CCV-SURF-SOP-2421 <br /> Surface Mining Date of This Issue:March 27,2018 Date of Next Review:27 March 2021 Page 1 of 9 <br /> -------------------------------------------------------------�-------------------------------------------------------------�-------------------------------------------------------------�------------------------------------------------------------- <br />
