Remediation and Monitoring Measures • <br /> NEWMONT. <br /> Cyanide Spills • • Releases <br /> Sustainability and External Relations <br /> Role Responsibility <br /> Sustainability& • Provide advice on the handling and disposal of affected material. <br /> External Relations • Assist with incident investigation, including event classification. <br /> Department (SER) <br /> • Inspect work areas to verify spills have been adequately cleaned up in <br /> accordance with requirements. <br /> • Sample soil and groundwater following releases (if required). <br /> • Train personnel on appropriate spill/release response techniques and <br /> processes. <br /> Mine Rescue Team • Coordinate emergency spill/release response. <br /> (MRT) • Provide advice on environmentally hazardous chemicals. <br /> Work Area • Collect spill/release information and report details to SER department. <br /> Supervisor • Provide suitably stocked spill kits as needed in areas whereby spill <br /> response may be required. <br /> • Coordinate investigation of spill/release events and ensure timely clean- <br /> up is carried out. <br /> 5 SITE SPECIFIC POTENTIAL LEAKS, SPILLS OR RELEASES <br /> The following scenarios are outlined in the CC&V ERP and are provided in this document as a <br /> reference. <br /> b) Tractor/Trailer Spills: <br /> (i) A large percentage of the cyanide used in Newmont CCV operations is supplied <br /> by Cyanco.
