Geotextile shall be supplied in rolls wrapped in relatively impermeable and <br /> opaque protective covers, with straps for unloading. <br /> 2. Geotextile rolls shall be marked or tagged with the following information. <br /> a. MANUFACTURER's name <br /> b. Product information <br /> c. Roll number <br /> d. Batch of lot number <br /> e. Roll dimensions <br /> 3. CONTRACTOR shall ensure that geotextile rolls are properly loaded and secured <br /> to prevent damage during transit. <br /> 4. CONTRACTOR shall protect geotextile from excessive heat, cold, puncture, <br /> cutting, or other damaging or deleterious conditions. <br /> 5. CONTRACTOR shall ensure personnel responsible for loading, transport, and <br /> unloading of are familiar with handling and transport constraints imposed by <br /> MANUFACTURER. <br /> B. Acceptance at Site <br /> 1. CQA MONITOR shall perform inventory and surface inspection for defects and <br /> damage of all geotextile rolls upon delivery. <br /> 2. CONTRACTOR shall unroll and inspect any geotextile roll that may be damaged <br /> below surface. <br /> 3. CONTRACTOR shall repair damage resulting from handling and transport of <br /> geotextile at no cost to CC&V. If irreparable, in the opinion of CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER, damaged materials shall be replaced at no cost to CC&V. <br /> C. Storage and Protection <br /> 1. MANAGER will provide on-site storage area for geotextile rolls from time of <br /> delivery until installation. <br /> 2. The storage of the materials is the responsibility of CONTRACTOR from the time <br /> the materials are manufactured until the time the completed installation is <br /> accepted. CONTRACTOR is responsible for preparing the storage location and for <br /> the protection of the material from the elements (e.g. ultraviolet light, moisture, <br /> temperature, etc.). <br /> 3. After CONTRACTOR has removed material from storage area, protect geotextile <br /> from puncture, dirt, groundwater, moisture, mud, mechanical abrasion, <br /> excessive heat, ultraviolet light exposure, and other sources of damage. <br /> 4.
