The reclamation drainage will be constructed as the site is reclaimed, and this drainage network <br /> is discussed in Exhibit G. <br /> (d) Size of area(s) to be worked on at any one time <br /> Grading may occur in any portion of the 240.5 acres of the quarry permit area throughout the life <br /> of the project. Once an area is graded to the reclamation topography, it will be topsoiled and <br /> seeded for final reclamation. <br /> (e) Timetables for Mining and Reclamation Operations <br /> Grading of the borrow areas onsite is expected to take one to two years. Importing material from <br /> offsite will take two to five years depending on availability of material. Importing material and <br /> grading the onsite areas will occur concurrently. Establishing vegetation is anticipated to take no <br /> longer than five years. <br /> (f) Description and Thickness of Overburden, Deposit, and Underlying Stratum <br /> Topsoil will be stockpiled for use in reclamation. The location of the topsoil stockpiles will be <br /> within the permit area, and out of the way of mine traffic, stream channels or drainage ways. <br /> Current native topsoil stockpile locations are shown on Exhibit C-1. Imported topsoil piles will be <br /> maintained near the plant area and hauled to sloped benches which are ready for topsoil. <br /> Stockpiles will be stabilized with vegetative cover or other means to protect from erosion. <br /> The upper slopes that will be graded in this Plan have up to 30 feet of highly weathered Pikes <br /> Peak granite that is considered overburden and will be removed by ripping with a bulldozer. <br /> Granite that is deeper and less weathered will be removed with drilling and blasting operations to <br /> achieve the desired long-term stable slope. <br /> The primary deposit that has been mined in the past for sale at Pikeview Quarry is the Manitou <br /> Limestone. The basal member of the Manitou Limestone is the Peerless dolomite, which has also <br /> been mined, when present. <br /> The underlying stratum is the 70-foot thick Sawatch sandstone. The sandstone is glauconitic <br /> near the top, and arkosic near the base. The failure of a weak, thin laterally extensive clay layer <br /> near the top of this formation has been attributed to the December 2, 2008 landslide. The <br /> geotechnical assessment included in Exhibit 6.5 demonstrates the slope stability of the reclaimed <br /> slope. <br /> (g) Primary and Secondary Commodities <br /> Pikeview Quarry Amendment 4 <br /> 2019 <br /> D-6 <br />
