DESCRIPTION OF THE OPERATION <br /> A. Access. Show on a map(USGS quadrangle map or a National Forest map, for example)the claim boundaries, if applicable, and all <br /> access needs such as roads and trails, on and off the claim. Specify which Forest Service roads will be used, where maintenance or <br /> reconstruction is proposed, and where new construction is necessary. For new construction, include construction specifications such <br /> as widths, grades, etc., location and size of culverts, describe maintenance plans, and the type and size of vehicles and equipment <br /> that will use the access routes. <br /> Please see the attached map(EXHIBIT A),which shows how Forest Service Roads 274,752.A,752,201,and County Roads 94 <br /> &32 will be used from Highway 24 to access the claims. <br /> Please see the attached map(EXHIBIT B),which shows the existing non-system roads that will be used.These non-system roads can <br /> best be described as a"Two-track jeep trail"with approximate dimensions of 1489 feet x 7 feet(10,423 sq feet or 0.24 acres, <br /> maximum slopes of 41.7%or 22 degrees)and 1331 feet x 7 feet(9317 sq feet or 0.21 acres, maximum slopes of 47%or 25 degrees). <br /> Total road disturbance is 2820 feet x 7 feet(19,740 sq feet). <br /> Existing surface disturbance can heal and new damage can be minimized by keeping the road closed to unauthorized vehicles <br /> with the use of a gate, and by the limited number of times the operator will actually use each non-system road each year <br /> (approximately 12 to 15 times on each non-system road per year).No new road construction will occur. <br /> Reclamation will be completed by hand raking and re-seeding methods and water bars will be installed as needed. <br /> (If more space is needed to fill out a block of information,use additional sheets and attach form) <br /> -2- <br />
