Mr. Peter Hays, DRMS
November 5,2019
(e) The pipe is a 6" line buried approximately nine feet below ground surface. At this time
the line remains isolated and will remain that way through the winter until further
investigation can be commenced in the spring. As this section of the pipeline has no
other take-offs, isolating it doesn't affect the operation of the fire water system as the
system is a loop. Hydrant Nos. 6 & 7 remain charged and available for use, if needed.
Once the area is excavated in the spring, the condition of the line will be assessed. Site
engineers are anticipating replacing a section of the pipeline. However, further
evaluation of the pipeline condition will be done while the excavation is in progress and
necessary repairs will be made.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 720-942-3420 or Miguel
Hamarat at 720-942-3255.
Sincerely,
Aaron Hilshorst
Chief Environmental Engineer
Climax Molybdenum Company
Henderson Operations
CC (via email):
M.
